Where space is limited, green walls are a brilliant way to introduce plants into a courtyard or balcony where there is no room for a conventional garden or pot.
When I was younger, I was consumed with my love of worldwide travel. I worked as a flight attendant while in university and beyond so that I could easily take off on my next globetrotting adventure. Eventually more responsibilities and commitments crept into my life; a mortgage, a career and motherhood curbed my wanderlust. Fast-forward to 2018 where a series of synchronicities brought me back to my deep love of travel and exploration.
It turns out Hawaii is an amazing destination for those of us who love a variety of landscapes. It is a magical, powerful and immensely spiritual place to visit. Hawai’i also called The Big Island, remarkably is home to 11 of the world's 13 climatic zones. The landscapes range from lava deserts, fertile farmland, lush jungles, cool mountains, warm beaches, and the occasional erupting volcano.
Firstly, start by making a list of everything you would like to accomplish in your courtyard and then prioritise your wish list. Just a few thought-provoking words will do. Once you have had a brain dump, you are ready to create solutions that will allow you to realise your ideal courtyard garden, tailored to your specific needs.
